The primary mission of the CPSC is to build a bridge of trust and collaboration between the local communities and Police stations and Police personnel. The objectives of the centre include increasing community engagement, enhancing transparency in policing through participatory methods and addressing the specific security needs of the local populace. What are the Objectives of Community Policing? +
The main objective of Community Policing is to involve local public who are having intention to serve the public for major temple bandobust and other duties.
Who can register for Community Policing activity? +
Any public (Male or Female) who have attained the age of 18 may register for Community Policing.
What is the registration charge? +
No registration charges are involved.
Whether manual registration is involved? +
No. Only online registration process is involved.
Whether I can use Tamil language for online registration? +
Yes. The registration process supports both English and Tamil languages.
How long it will take for approval of my registration? +
Normally, it takes a minimum of three to four weeks for approval by the concerned jurisdictional district Superintendent of Police or Commissioner of Police. Once approved, you will get a SMS confirming your registration.
Whether any background verification will be done before approval? +
In order to ensure that the genuine participants are registered for Community Policing activities, a background verification will be done by the authorities before approval.
After my registration is completed, when will I be called for duties? Whom should I approach? +
The concerned officer in your district / city has the dashboard for managing the various bandobust events. Based on the requirement, they will call you and inform the duty (number of days, date & time of reporting, where to report, with whom you should report etc).
Whether any remuneration will be paid for doing Community Policing? +
No remuneration will be paid for those persons involved in Community Policing. However, for having participated in major bandobust events, appreciation letters will be given by the concerned district Superintendent of Police or Commissioner of Police.
Any transport facility will be provided for doing the Community Policing duties? +
No. However, if you are being called for duty away from home town / place of residence, you will be picked up in the troop deployment Police party vehicle. You may travel in the same Police vehicle and after the event is over, you will be dropped at your place.
Whether I can wear Police uniform while doing Community Policing activity? +
No.
Whether any Identity Card will be issued to me while doing Community Policing activity? +
Yes. The Identity Card will be given by the concerned district Superintendent of Police or Commissioner of Police while you were deployed for the duty.
